Phyllis Ann Hammond Smith of Ashburn, Virginia (The Wingler House) died peacefully, surrounded by family, on August 24, 2017 at The Adler Center for Caring (Hospice) in Aldie, VA.
Phyllis was born May 26, 1932, in Alexandria, VA to the late Charles B. and Capitola Jenkins. Phyllis attended Nursing School in Alexandria, Virginia and later became the Director of Nursing for The Goodwin House, Commonwealth Nursing Home and The Virginian.

Ann Marie Plunkett Brien passed from this world Monday, August 21, 2017 at 12:30 AM at the age of 81. Born in Rathgar, Dublin on December 7, 1935 to Patrick and Sarah Plunkett, Ann was the fourth of seven children and educated at the Loretto schools in Dublin. In August of 1958 she followed her fiance, Hugh James Brien to Long Island, New York where they were married in February of 1959 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Manhattan.
She was a faithful and loving wife and mother of five children, Sally Holper (Dan), Susan Campbell, Una Geary (Pat), Hugh, and Deirdre Pennefather (Richard).
Jack Mason Cornell, age 88, of Dumfries, VA, passed away on August 20, 2017. Beloved husband of almost 63 years to Nancy Bramell Cornell. Loving father of William J. Cornell and Milton R. Cornell (Marie). Cherished grandfather of Jason Cornell, Jeremy Cornell and Brittany Cornell. Great grandfather of J.J., Savanah, Jace, and Libby. Jack retired as a warehouseman for the C.I.A. His family was his heart and soul. When not attending an auction with his wife, he could be found fishing, or watching his favorite football team; the Washington Redskins. His favorite time was spent with his sons. Beach vacations were a family affair.

Early morning on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 Dorothy Ball, 51, left fearlessly to be with the Lord after a year-long battle with lung cancer. Dorothy, also formerly known as Dorothy Scheibe, was a long-term resident of Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Dorothy’s greatest passions were family and faith. She believed every person deserved a place to call home and she opened her own home to many throughout her life. She was a devoted mother and foster mother with Stafford County Social Services. Dorothy was a member of Hollywood Church of the Brethren where she formed an extended family. Dorothy never met a stranger because she made a friend in anyone she encountered.
Charles Ted Bauserman, age 71, born May 18, 1946, passed away on August 17, 2017, at his home in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles L. "Chic" and mother, Dorothy V. He is survived by his daughter Cyndi Lee Allen (A. Scott Allen), of Greensboro, NC, his sister Jo Marie Duke (Marty Duke) of Huntsville, AL, forever friend Sandra Taylor Cottrell, two nieces, a nephew and several loving cousins.
Ted was a graduate of Osbourn High School and went on to attend Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. After moving to Wilmington, North Carolina Ted retired from Talbott & Bright in 2014.
