Vernon (Vern) Roy Garner, 67, peacefully passed away September 13, 2017, after a courageous five-year battle with a rare brain disease. Vern was born December 16, 1949, to Carrie and the late Dennis Garner, in Washington, D.C., the second child of seven. He graduated from Osbourn High School, Manassas, Virginia, in 1968.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 37 years, Barbara; daughter Melissa (Robert); daughter Julie (Greg); grandchildren Madeline, Benjamin, Josephine and Ava; brother Larry (Brenda); sisters Gloria, Sherry, Donna (George) and Brenda (Tim); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and an abundance of friends, colleagues and neighbors. Vern was predeceased by his brother Dwayne, his first wife Bonnie and others dear to him.


James Lester Buckler, age 79, of Gainesville, Virginia passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Novant Health Prince William Medical Center.

Jim was born on October 1, 1937 in Washington, DC the son of the late Andrew Thomas & Carrie Jane (Tippett) Buckler, Sr. Jim retired as a Director of Information Systems Division for the Navy Federal Credit Union. Jim served in the US Air National Guard. He enjoyed Civil War History, Genealogy and travel. He had the ability to make everyone laugh and feel comfortable around him.


William Anthony Little who was born on July 17,1937 and passed away on September 11, 2017. Born in New Jersey, he was predeceased by his parents, William Frances Little and Susanna Dempsey Little. He is survived by his wife Julie and his children Julie (Mark) Schweber, Tricia Little, William Little and Anthony Little. His five grandchildren and one great grandchild will all miss him and hold his memory close. He is also survived by his sisters Elizabeth Johansen and Margaret Ballasare and his brother John Little.

William enjoyed spending time outside. he liked to garden and enjoyed taking long walks. He enjoyed listening to music, in particular "swing" music. You could often find him watching PBS, the History Channel and National Geographic on TV. William enjoyed spending time on his computer. He also liked to exercise. He will be missed by all who knew him.


Charles E. Howard Jr, 70, of Stafford County passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.

Junior, as he was called, was a lifelong resident of Stafford County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Maggie Howard; and his loving aunt, Mary Howard.


Billy Wayne Davidson, age 73, of Manassas, VA passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Adler Center for Caring in Aldie, VA surrounded by his family.

He was born on May 8, 1944, in Saltville, VA the son of the late Marvin Albert and Claudine (Fry) Davidson. He was the owner of National Pest Control. He was a member, Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at Yorkshire Free Will Baptist Church.
