Ray Arnold Young passed away at his home in Nauvoo, Illinois on September 9, 2017. He was born in Newdale, Idaho on March16,1930 to Ernest Lorenzo and Edythe Watts Young. Ray moved to Twin Falls, Idaho with his family when he was in middle school. He attended Twin Falls High School. When he was 14 he met Mary LaRae Miller and decided that very first day he would marry her. They were married in 1951 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They are the parents of six children. They made their home in Twin Falls and he purchased a Conoco gas station. In 1957, after having served in the National Guard for 10 years, he decided to join the Army.

Ray served in many places over his career. He especially loved time at Fort Rucker, Alabama where he taught fixed wing and helicopter training. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. During his last tour in 1976 he was instrumental in the building of the first LDS chapel in Vietnam. He also was able to fly many General Authorities to various bases in Vietnam when they would be in the country to visit. H felt that he was more on a mission than in a war zone. He loved his country and was proud to serve. Through the military he was able to complete his college education and graduated from the University of Omaha. He retired in 199 at the rank of Colonel, settling in the Washington, DC area. After retirement he worked for Airline Pilots Association and then Barlow Corporation before retiring fully in 1996.


Elizabeth Noreen Fritsch “Bette”, age 82, of Nokesville, Virginia peacefully passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at her home, surrounded by friends and family.

She was born on November 11, 1934 in Carnegie, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late John and Helen (DeHoux) Welsh. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Fritsch.


Joyce Geraldine Hackworth Miller passed away on September 15, 2017 in Gainesville, VA. She was a dearest mother, grandmother, friend and aunt. She was born on August 24, 1933 in Ruble, Missouri and was preceded in death by her husband, Warren L. Miller, brother James Earl Hackworth, sister Irma Josephine Spotswood and infant son, Gregory Randall Bucher. Survived by her son, Gary L. Bucher (Liz), granddaughters Lauren and Claire and dear nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be scheduled for family and friends at a later date. The world is a better place because of her love and kindness. She will be greatly missed by many. Rowena V. Cox, age 88, of Spring Hill, Florida formerly of Virginia passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Florida.

She was born on June 30, 1929 in Falls Church, Virginia the daughter of the late Charles and Lucy (Potter) Ellicott. She retired from Fairfax County.


Ruben Chavira Urbina, age 15, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 in Haymarket, VA.

He was born on April 22, 2002 in Fairfax, VA. Ruben loved skate boarding, mixed martial arts and the color orange. He was a straight-A student.
