Hilda Louise Strickler, 91 of Lake Ridge, VA passed away on May 27, 2020 at Westminister at Lake Ridge. She was born in 1928 to the late Hubert and Nanniebell Brasefield. She was a pre-school teacher, a kindergarten teacher and ran the nursery at Virginia Hills Baptist Church. A wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many. Including her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gerald Strickler, her sisters Mary Shelton, Edith “Buck” Wood, Elver “Pete” Parrish, Judy Rollen and son in law John Krug.
She is survived by her son, David Strickler, daughter, Marsha Krug. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Kristen Wagner, Gregory Strickler, Nathan Krug, and Darcey Villasenor. Also 10 great grandchildren.

Irene Ingrid Christel Shimer, 80, passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2020. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 50 years, Tommy; her daughter, Carmen Graver and husband Bobby; Grandchildren Alexandra and Jeffrey; her sister Ursel (Ulla) Neu; her sister-in-law Nancy Shimer Cooke; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Irene was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. When she married Tommy in Karlsruhe, German in 1969 she embarked on the adventure of a lifetime. As an Army wife, she dedicated many years of service in support of our military families. She served as the President of the Officers’ Wives Club, President of the German-American Officers’ Wives Club and spent many hours as a volunteer in support of our troops. Upon Tommy’s retirement from the army she worked with him in his dental practice.
Jean Campbell Williams, 95, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2020. She was born on January 21, 1925 in Savannah, Georgia to parents Edward M. and Ora Lee Campbell. She received her BS in Education from Queens College in Charlotte, NC where she was also a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She also received a Masters in Education from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Davant Thomas Williams who she was married to for 63 years. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca W. Polaski and her husband, Thomas A. Polaski; daughter-in- law, Kay C. Williams; grandchildren, Erin E. Stewart (Daniel), Michael T. Edens (Jessie), Joshua W. Edens, Jenna W. Smith (Jared) and Blake D. Williams; great grandchildren, Cameron, Emma, Carleigh, Arya, Wyatt, Scout Jean, and Lincoln; brother-in-law, David L. Williams and his wife, Roberta M. Williams, and nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her daughter Lucinda W. Lewis and her husband Gregory A. Lewis, and her son Robert D. Williams.
A family celebration of Jean’s life will be held in October 2020 in Black Mountain, NC.
A wonderful woman, Missy Bowler-Gleason, peacefully passed away at her home in Stafford, VA on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. She was only 52 years young and was not only loved but respected by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Donald Wayne Gleason, their daughter Brooke Nicole Gleason, her step children Joshua Gleason (Lauren) and Farrah (Joshua) Galloway and seven grandchildren. Her mother, Marjorie Bowler-Schaeffer as well as her brothers Gary Bowler and Randal (Yvonne) Bowler also survive her. Her twin sister’s daughter, Jennifer Zoromski and several other nieces and nephews as well as her sister in law Tracey Bowler survive her.
