PRINCE WILLAM COUNTY — The Manassas area will soon be home to two new breweries.
Public Safety Brewing, a Samuel Gray company, is planned to operate at 10844 Balls Ford Road, Manassas. The brewery will carry 500 barrels or less, according to their ABC license application, which is still pending.
WOODBRIDGE — Another brewery in Woodbridge will close its doors.
Ornery Brewery located at the Potomac Festival Shopping Center across from Potomac Mills mall will close Monday, March 12.

The second to last week of the General Assembly session brought a conclusion to most committee work in the legislature, the passage of several important bills and a fierce windstorm.
On Friday, a powerful wind storm struck Virginia and inflicted millions of dollars in damage to people and property, far more harm than most people anticipated. Many people lost electricity, some for several days. According to Dominion Energy, it was the fifth-worst power outage in company history after Hurricanes Isabel, Floyd, Irene and the 2012 Derecho.
Police say they have in custody the man accused of shooting a 28-year-old man in the lower body on January 23.
The shooting happened at the Maplewood Apartments on Peakwood Court near Manassas.
Prince William police say the bus driver who hit and killed a man at a county public schools transportation center last month will not face charges.

On Friday, and rightly so, Prince Willam County Public Schools were closed for high winds that wreaked havoc on the region falling trees, blowing shingles off homes, as well blowing the water out of Neabsco Creek.
Today, Prince William County Public Schools will open two hours late in large part due to the nightmare traffic scenario anticipated to unfold on area roads Monday morning.

The 140-foot tall sign along Interstate 95 is leaning, blown askew by wind gusts topping 70 mph hour on Friday, March 2.
