STAFFORD — Residents on Tuesday night pleaded with Stafford County leaders to raise their taxes.
They say the county’s current tax rate of 99 cents per every $100 of the assessed residential property would provide needed money to repair and rebuild crumbling schools, and improve the county’s transportation network.

STAFFORD — A juvenile involved in a crash on the two-lane Poplar Road in Stafford County is dead.
The crash occurred Thursday, March 29 at 7:56 a.m. in the 1900 block of Poplar Road.

DUMFRIES — Both candidates for running for mayor in Dumfries say the biggest issue facing the town is the need to improve Route 1, realign it, and widen it to six lanes.

Shooting Investigation – On March 31 at 5:08AM, officers responded to the Heathcote Medical Center located at 15196 Heathcote Blvd in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a shooting after a man was brought to the facility suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the lower body. A group of individuals dropped the victim off at the hospital before fleeing.

It’s a proposed housing development that could bring 325 new homes, both townhouse, and condos overlooking Interstate 95 in Woodbridge.

MANASSAS — Taps-N-Apps has closed its doors in Manassas.
The eatery formerly known as Mackey’s Pub underwent a renovation last fall, kicked out all of the cigar-smoking regulars, and redid the kitchen and interior of the restaurant in an effort to attract new customers.
