STAFFORD — Work on Stafford County’s new animal shelter is wrapping up.
The new $5 million facilities located at 26 Frosty Lane near the Rappahannock Regional Jail will replace the county’s current facility next to the Rappahannock Regional Landfill on Eskimo Hill Road.

It informed her that she was being considered as a replacement for Murphy, who died in his home from a heart attack in February 2017. Nickerson, who serves on the town’s architectural review board, ultimately wasn’t selected by the town council, but that letter got her thinking.
“It woke up a bug in me,” said Nickerson. “Maybe this town council thing is for me. Maybe this is a way to enact change in my community.”
WOODBRIDGE — Students at Potomac Senior High School are focused on how to prevent a mass shooting at their school.
About 200 gathered in the school’s Woodbridge auditorium at 3401 Panther Pride Drive on April 20, the 19th anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre in Colorado, to talk about the threat of shootings, as well as mental health issues.
Prince William County has a homeless problem.
About 400 people in the county live in shelters, or in wooded areas around major roadways and shopping centers.
Life, health, and biotechnology sciences are getting a local hand up, thanks to the Prince William Science Accelerator. Ross Dunlap, CEO of Ceres Nanosciences, Inc., can tell you how it has been beneficial to his organization.
Ceres is the first company to “graduate” from the accelerator, which Dunlap says, “provides wet-lab space to life sciences companies of all sizes – from the earliest stage start-ups to emerging life sciences companies.”

The new station located at 5036 Davis Ford Road near the Prince William County Government Center will house not only patrol officers but also the Office of the Chief of Police.
