The Board of County Supervisors announced that Lisa Madron will serve as the Executive Director of Community Services, a public agency providing mental health, developmental disability, substance abuse, emergency services and early intervention programs for residents of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

*MISSING ENDANGERED ADULT: The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing and endangered adult identified as James LITTLE, age 61, of the Manassas area of Prince William County. Family members reported to police that James was last seen on April 29, 2018 at a family member’s residence in Stafford. James is believed to be missing under voluntarily circumstances and may need assistance which qualifies him as endangered. He may also be driving a 2013, blue Nissan Pathfinder with Virginia license plates VSC-9194. Anyone with information on this person’s whereabouts is asked to call Prince William County police at 703-792-6500 or your local police department.

The Prince William County Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting on Thursday, May 17, to give the public an idea of candidate transportation projects in Prince William County and the region.
From police:
Shooting into an Unoccupied Dwelling – On May 10 at 12:20PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14800 block of Cherrydale Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a destruction of property. The caller reported to police that he found a bullet hole in an exterior wall. Upon further investigation, a bullet fragment was located inside the residence on a windowsill. The caller stated that the incident occurred sometime between April 26 and May 10. No injuries or other property damage was reported.
Voters will head to the polls on June 12 for a dual Primary Election where Republicans and Democrats may vote candidates to compete in Fall 2018 elections.
WOODBRIDGE — A new report indicates OmniRide could have done more sooner to report a missing bus to police.
The report indicates an unidentified First Transit, Inc. driver contracted by OmniRide drove commuter bus 386 on the afternoon of August 22, 2017, to its first stop at 7th and D streets in NW Washington and refused to pick up any passengers. An angry customer called OmniRide, tipping off the transit company to the problem.
Over the last two years, I have held six community meetings specifically on traffic congestion mitigation in or near the Occoquan District. Several solutions were suggested by residents including improvements to I-95 from the Route 123 interchange to the Prince William Parkway interchange.
Prince William County commuters suffer from the current configuration of I-95 south over the Occoquan River. As it stands today, traveling south, I-95 has four through lanes as you approach the I-95/Route 123 interchange.
WOODBRIDGE — The newest destination theater in Woodbridge is set to open next month.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will be located in Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center where the old “Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill” once stood. The old restaurant was demolished to make way for the 41,000 square-foot theater.
