This neighborhood along I-95 is one of Virginia’s most affordable

STAFFORD COUNTY — If you’re thinking of moving to Stafford County Aquia Harbour would be a good choice as the neighborhood was ranked the seventh most affordable place to live in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

A new study from financial technology company SmartAsset ranks the most affordable places to live in Virginia. This is SmartAsset’s fourth annual study on the most affordable places in America. These communities are ranked on an affordability index weighing property taxes, homeowners’ insurance fees and mortgage payments relative to income.

5 suffer serious injuries in crash outside Manassas NOVA Campus

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Five people were taken to a hospital following a crash on Route 234.

All five people suffered serious injuries in the crash that occurred at 5 p.m. outside the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College. One was flown to an area hospital from the visitors center of the Manassas National Battlefield.

7-Eleven on Minnieville Road robbed in broad daylight

DALE CITY — A 7-Eleven on the corner of Minnieville Road and Cardinal Drive was robbed in broad daylight.

A man walked into the convenience store at 14410 Minnieville Road about 12:30 p.m., told an employee he had a gun and was given cash from the register.

Stafford judge recuses herself following cluster development case, new courthouse push

STAFFORD — A legal battle between a private land developer and the Stafford County Government continues despite the fact a local judge recused herself from hearing any case involving the local government.

Circuit Judge Victoria Willis made the comments following a lawsuit filed by developer Robert Gollahon, who is suing the Stafford County Government after its Board of Supervisors in April passed an ordinance that automatically disqualified proposals for numerous “cluster subdivisions” totaling more than 300 homes that would have been built in rural areas of the county.

Suspect called police after he sexually assaulted woman, police say

Sexual Assault – On July 29 at 7:45AM, officers responded to the 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a physical assault. The caller, later identified as the accused, initially reported to police that he was physically assaulted by two males while standing outside an apartment building in the above area.

Mother, son taken to hospital after byway crash

A six-year-old boy and his mother were taken to a hospital following a crash on Bent Town Road.

The crash occurred about 3 p.m. Friday on Brent Town Road near Aquia Road in Fauquier County and involved three vehicles — a U.S. Mail truck, minivan, and a van operated by a Washington Gas contractor
