WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release) On September 26, the Northern Virginia/DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force concluded an investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography with the execution of a search warrant at a home located at 11557 Hill Meade Ln in Woodbridge.

During the course of the investigation, which began in July of 2018, the accused was involved in the sharing of child pornography via the internet through an undisclosed peer to peer network. Multiple files of child pornography were determined to have been downloaded by the accused from a computer within his Woodbridge residence.


MANASSAS — Leaders put the brakes on a proposed redevelopment study for 20 acres of land south of Downtown Manassas.

Councilman Mark Aveni on Thursday told the city’s land use committee that redeveloping the land behind the Manassas Museum, between Buckner Road to Prince William Street, into a mixed historical district with urban single-family homes “could be the most significant development in Manassas since the railroad came through.”


MANASSAS — (Press Release) On September 28, 2018, at approximately 1:15 p.m., detectives from the Manassas City Police Department were notified of a suspicious event which occurred on the 9200 block of Byrd Dr. 

Investigators spoke to a 10-year-old female victim who reported at approximately 6:30 a.m. she was approached by an unknown male in the area of Byrd Dr/Aspen Pl while she was walking to her bus stop. 


WOODBRIDGE — With a runway expansion and increased community involvement, Stafford Regional Airport is continuing to impact Prince William County, the airport’s vice chairman, David Ellis, said at the Prince William County Board of Supervisors meeting on September 11.

Ellis highlighted the airport’s growth and future projects to the board.


MANASSAS — (Press Release) The Prince William Health District encourages everyone to protect themselves, those they love, and those around them by getting an annual flu shot. The health district is offering free flu shots for those six months and older at the Veterans Park Community Center on Thursday, October 11 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., or while vaccine supplies last. The Community Center is located at 14300 Veterans Drive in Woodbridge. No appointment is necessary and the shots are free.

The flu is a contagious illness caused by a virus and is spread by coughing, sneezing or nasal discharge. Symptoms include fever, chills, fatigue, muscle aches, sore throat, cough, headache and runny or stuffy nose. Anyone can get the flu, but those at greatest risk of complications are children, people 65 and older, pregnant women and those with a weakened immune system.
