WOODBRIDGE – (Press Release) On November 20 at 4:11AM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 14797 Darbydale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary-in-progress. The investigation revealed that a Ford truck backed through the front of the above address. Four men then exited the vehicle and loaded the store’s ATM in to the back truck bed. The suspects then fled the area at a high rate of speed causing the ATM to fall out of the truck and into the roadway. Shortly after the burglary, at approximately 4:21AM, officers received a report of an attempted carjacking in the 14300 block of Westminister Ln. The victim, an adult woman, reported to police that four men attempted to steal her vehicle. The men implied they had a weapon. The victim’s husband intervened and the men fled on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 and the Fairfax County police helicopter searched the area for the suspects. One of the men believed to be involved in the incident has been detained. The Ford truck used in the initial burglary at the 7-Eleven was also located and determined to have been stolen out of Washington D.C. The ATM stolen was recovered. The suspects were only described as black males wearing hooded sweatshirts. The investigation continues.
