STAFFORD (Press Release) — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect behind a homicide that occurred early on Sunday morning at the Exxon/Mr. B’s Market and Deli on Warrenton Road near Interstate 95.

On November 18, 2018, at approximately 12:20 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the Exxon located at 375 Warrenton Road. Upon arrival, deputies learned the suspect shot the victim near the gas pumps and subsequently fled the scene in a black Nissan four-door sedan, possibly a Sentra or Versa. The victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.


MANASSAS — Delegate Lee Carter’s seat is up for election next year, and Manassas City Councilman Ian Lovejoy plans to run for it.

Lovejoy will announce his campaign on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at a small gathering in his house in Manassas.


DALE CITY – (Press Release) Dale City Track Club (DCTC) has been awarded the 2018 Track and Field District Club of the Year by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) for Virginia. The award was based on the team’s outstanding success and merit working with today’s youth, tomorrow’s stars.

To qualify, the team was required to demonstrate excellence in the sport and involvement in the community. AAU rated their performance, record and previous honors. The club’s qualifications included:


WOODBRIDGE – (Press Release) On November 16 at 9:10AM, officers responded to the area of Pond Way and Park Lake Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a death. The caller reported to police that while walking in the above area, a body was discovered in the pond. The victim, identified as a male, was removed from the water and pronounced deceased. At this time, the cause of death is unknown. The investigation continues.


STAFFORD – (Press Release) The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two suspects involved in a burglary that occurred at the AT&T store located at 28 South Gateway Drive in the early morning hours on Thursday. The suspects stole approximately $80,000.00 worth of phones and cash.

On November 15, 2018, at approximately 2:46 a.m., 1st Sergeant Christopher Neuhard, Sergeant Jason Aubry, and Deputy Scott Fulford responded to the AT&T store for a burglar alarm.


WOODBRIDGE — A software glitch yesterday left about 10 percent of Prince William County School employees asking where their paychecks were.

“We have about 11,000 employees. About 1,100 belong to the PWC Employees Credit Union. Due to a technical issue at the credit union, about 1,100 were not paid. We have been in frequent contact with the Credit Union and assured that all direct deposits had been made today by 1:30 p.m.” Dianna Gulatta, Prince William County Schools spokeswoman said in an email.


BRISTOW — Those working to protect and improve Prince William County’s rural area say it will be a campaign issue in 2019.

But it could be until 2020 before voters see policies reviewed and action is taken, they add.
