STAFFORD COUNTY — A 17-year-old girl was killed after she was involved in a crash in Stafford County.

The crash occurred Thursday, May 16 at 4:48 p.m. on Kellogg Mill Road. A car driven by the teenager was attempting to make a left turn onto Kellogg Mill Road from the Abel Lake Boat Ramp parking lot when it was struck by a roll-off container truck.


WASHINGTON – Residents from a Lake Ridge senior affordable housing community joined the Senior Housing Now rally to protect seniors’ housing rights.

Residents from Fellowship Square urged Congress to protect housing and subsidies for seniors at the U.S. Capitol lawn last week. About 100 Fellowship Square residents from other locations in  Northern Virginia and Maryland, and by hundreds of other seniors and senior advocates, asking Congress to expand funding for these programs.

MANASSAS PARK — The employees of Manassas Park Community Center have been hard at work preparing events for this summer.


MANASSAS — The annual fundraiser known as Manassas Hamfest returns on June 15 this year. This year’s Hamfest will be held at the Manassas Park Community Center from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Although visitors occasionally arrive asking for recipes, Hamfest isn’t about cooking.  It’s the annual fundraiser for the Ole Virginia Hams amateur radio club.
