FREDERICKSBURG– U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Lindsay Carrick, 26, finished the 2019 Marine Corps Historic Half held last weekend in Fredericksburg as the first female finisher in a time of 1:25:02.
The Fredericksburg resident and Logistics Officer at Officer Candidate School in Marine Corps Base Quantico is the 2018 Marine Corps Athlete of the Year. This award is determined by an active duty Marine’s athletic skill and how well they embody Marine Corps values.
STAFFORD — (Press release) The family of Sgt. Charles Calvin Strong will honor him and his sacrifice on May 24 at Stafford’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony.
His wife, Taylor Strong, a Stafford County native, and their daughter, Sophie, will place a wreath in memory of Sgt. Strong and those who, along with him, have died in service to the country.

STAFFORD — The Omniride commuter bus service is considering commuter expanding to Stafford County.
At the transit agency’s Board of Commissioner’s meeting on May 2, new options for OmniRide to help get cars off busy Interstate 95s and 395 during an expansion of the E-ZPass Express Lanes.
