STAFFORD — The Board of Supervisors is considering expanding upon the Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) Program to encourage development in targeted growth areas.
A TDR is when development rights in more rural areas (sending areas) are transferred to more urban and growing areas in the county (receiving areas). This acts as a conservation method for landowners while boosting urban growth.
MANASSAS — It’s a done deal.
Manassas City spokeswoman Patty Prince today reports the city has closed on an $846,000 deal to purchase Annburg Manor, the shuttered nursing home that was once one of the city’s most prominent homes.
STAFFORD COUNTY — Work on a new bridge across the Rappahannock River is proceeding this week with a new traffic shift on Interstate 95 near Route 27.

WOODBRIDGE — OmniRide wants to know what you think about new service along the Interstate 95 and 395 corridor.
One of the proposed services — a new commuter bus that will pick up at the Staffordboro Commuter Lot in North Stafford, would be OmniRide’s first service ever offered in the county.
