MANASSAS — After a year of construction, on July 26, Manassas leaders announced the opening of a new apartment complex, Messenger Place, as Downtown Manassas development continues to boom.

The name, Messenger Place, pays homage to the News & Messenger Newspaper formed in 1857, and eventually closed down in 2012.


STAFFORD — David Decatur is seeking a second term as Stafford County Sheriff.

With the Republican nomination, the 33-year veteran of the Stafford sheriff’s office is hanging his hat on his experience, community involvement, and work to improve pay and recruit new deputies to the force.


MANASSAS — (Press Release) The City of Manassas is pleased to announce that Scott Horan will be the new Public Works Director effective July 22, 2019.  Scott comes to the City with more than 15 years of service to Stafford County Public Schools and more than 20 years of service as an Air Force Engineering Officer.

As Public Works Director for the City of Manassas, Horan will oversee all Public Works functions which include Buildings & Grounds Maintenance, Cemeteries, Streets, Traffic Controls, Solid Waste and Vehicle Maintenance.
