Incumbent Republican Glen Hill has pulled ahead in the race after he was down in the vote count last night.
Election workers were busy this morning in Manassas working to certify the vote.
He was appointed to the council earlier this year after Councilman Ken Elston resigned, opting to move to North Carolina for a new job.
There was also an open seat on the city’s School Board won tonight by Democrat Lisa Anne Stevens.
Cavalier is the incumbent Stafford County Supervisor in the Griffis-Widewater District.
Allen told us she’s exicted about topping Cavalier in the vote count.
With this election, he’ll head into his second term.
Next door at the county courthouse, Commonwealth Attorney Eric Olsen will keep his job.

The victim of the homicide that occurred on Leighton Place in Manassas on Oct. 29, 2019 is identified as Richard WEBSTER, a 21 year-old resident of Manassas.
Detectives have arrested three suspects in connection with this case.
