A Manassas man has died following a crash in Fauquier County.
Virginia State Police press release | Virginia State Police Senior Trooper T. Green is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash in Fauquier County. The crash occurred January 7, 2020 at 12:56 p.m. Route 55 (John Marshall Highway) at 300 feet east of Route 729 (Carrington Road).
Snowy conditions on the roads forced a late start to the first meeting of the Stafford Board of Supervisors of 2020.
Scheduled at 3 p.m., the meeting began about 15 minutes late due to the late arrival of new Griffis-Widewater District Supervisor Tinesha Allen, who blamed the delay on the weather. It was Allen’s first meeting as a member of the Board of Supervisors. She unseated former Griffis-Widewater Supervisor Jack Cavalier in a recount election last fall.
CRRL press release | Central Rappahannock Regional Library (CRRL) is offering its 3rd annual Winter Reading Challenge for adults January 1 through March 31, 2020. CRRL customers 16 or older can sign up at librarypoint.org/winter.
Similar to CRRL’s Summer Reading program, participants can complete online missions to earn digital badges and chances to win movie tickets or a bag of books. Participants who log four or more books will receive a limited-edition CRRL travel mug while supplies last.

Adventure Brewing at Eagle Village will open for business on January 11, bringing its award-winning craft brews to a second location in Fredericksburg.
“We have been looking at locations for a very long time since Adventure South closed, with the landlord not wanting to renew the lease. We still wanted to have a presence in the Fredericksburg area,” said co-owner Russ Patishnock.

Stafford sheriff’s office press release | FRAUD — Pinkerton Court, 01/06, 6:00 p.m. A resident reported that an individual impersonating a deputy with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office called him and said he missed jury duty.
Consequently, he needed to pay a fine in the amount of $1111.00 using gift cards. The resident realized the call was a scam and immediately reported it to the Sheriff’s Office. The incident is under investigation.

Press release | The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a vehicle crash that killed two people on Monday on White Oak Road.
On January 6, 2020, at approximately 12:31 p.m., deputies responded to a head-on collision at the intersection of White Oak Road and Kendallwood Drive. When deputies arrived, witnesses reported observing a silver 2017 Acura RDX drift over the centerline into the eastbound lane and strike a white 2017 Nissan Rogue head-on.
