Manassas police say a search warrant was being carried out at Corriander Circle, near the Wellington Station shopping center, and that’s the reason for the large police presence there.

Press release | Today, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers of the Manassas City Police Department executed a search warrant, in connection to an on-going investigation, at a residence in the 9000 block of Coriander Circle. The search warrant was executed without incident. Expect heavy police presence in the area while officers work to clear the scene. More information on the nature of the investigation will be released at a later date.


Press release | Overnight lane closures are needed to allow crews to install a concrete barrier near the Truslow Road overpass to prepare for the bridge replacement.

I-95 southbound will be reduced to one lane overnight on Wednesday, Jan. 22, starting at 10 p.m. for the work zone. Double lane closures will end at 4:30 a.m.

300 Block of Twin Brook Lane, 01/21, 4:07 p.m. A resident reported that he made an arrangement through Facebook Marketplace to sell a pair of Air Pods. When they met, the buyer asked to see the Air Pods. After the seller handed him the Air Pods, the buyer took off running.


Press release | Beginning Monday, January 27, 2020, FRED Transit will relocate its Spotsylvania Avenue transfer point from its current location to about five miles south to its new location in the parking lot of Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) at 4701 Market Street. The new transfer facility will serve the following routes:

Each route will continue to serve Stop 26 on Spotsylvania Avenue, but buses will no longer make transfers here.


The one thing city leaders in Manassas don’t want is tall buildings that loom over people as they walk on downtown sidewalks.

In the city’s new comprehensive plan, a vision for 2040, the city wants all buildings that line streets to be constructed in a way so that a three-story portion of the building abuts the street, while a “step back” portion of the building rises as high as five stories.


The Manassas Regional Airport is the largest of its kind in the state. But does the majority of the flying public know its there?

Airport officials will spend $35,000 on an advertising and marketing plan this year to increase name awareness. About 40% of the people they intend to reach are locals who need a place to base their aircraft, with 60% of the remainder being transients (people who fly in their planes from out of town.) Commercial flights aren’t offered at the airport.


Press release | On January 20 at  8:17 p.m., officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the 9700 block of Bragg Lane for a report of a shooting.

The investigation revealed two suspects confronted the victims while they were sitting inside a vehicle parked in the area of the 9700 block of Bragg Lane. During the encounter, two juvenile males inside the vehicle were shot.

In the office market, the City ended the year with a historically low vacancy rate of 3.6%. New firms that relocated to the city in 2019 included Quantitative Analytics, Gryphus Enterprises, and MP Copiers.


Prince William police press release | On January 15 at 2:08 a.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 15600 block of Montview Dr. in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a stabbing.

The victim, a 45-year-old man, reported to police that he was with a man and a woman he met that night when an altercation ensued. During the encounter, the victim, he was scratched, bitten and stabbed by the other parties. Eventually, the victim was able to separate himself and flee the residence. The victim reported minor injuries. During the investigation, officers identified the woman as Genevieve Marie VIRAGO, and obtained warrants for her arrest. Attempts to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues as officers seek to identify the man involved.


A Second Amendment rally in Richmond on Monday drew more than 20.000 people to came to lobby for gun rights in Virginia.
