A memorial service will be held for the victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, including those who lived in Prince William County.
The Prince William Board of County Supervisors will host the event at 9:30 a.m. September 10. The service will be held outside the McCoart Building, the county government center at 1 County Complex Court in Woodbirdge, at the September 11 memorial water fountain.
Stafford County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Scott Kizner got a top nod from journalists, the school division announced.

(The Center Square) – Explosions in Afghanistan outside the Kabul airport Thursday have led to several civilian and military casualties and further heightened the chaotic evacuation of American citizens and Afghan nationals.
The Pentagon confirmed that “a number” of U.S. service members have been killed. Several media reports said the death toll includes at least 12 U.S. service members. Fox News reported that 11 were Marines and one was a Navy medic.

The school has been in session for three days, and police said traffic outside school buildings is crawling, leading to backups on streets in Prince William County.
All Prince William County Schools opened for in-person instruction on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021 – the first time that all students have gone to school in 18 months. With new parents in the area and new students attending for the first time, there has been increased traffic in and around schools causing gridlock conditions across the county.
