Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On June 17th at approximately 4:04 a.m. Deputy J.J. Suh responded to the intersection of Telegraph Road and Woodstock Lane for a report of an auto accident. It was advised instead of traveling on the road, the driver struck a power line pole, drove through a fence, and ended up a few hundred feet in a field.”

“When Deputy Suh arrived on scene, he located the Dodge Charger with heavy damage. The driver had the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and advised he was traveling nearly double the speed limit. After conducting field sobriety tests, Deputy Suh arrested the driver.


Stafford County Sheriff’s Office: “On June 16th at approximately 1:25 a.m. Deputy S.C. Jett responded to the Best Western, located at 2868 Richmond Highway, for a report of a disturbance. Dispatch received an open line call where they could hear people, who sounded intoxicated, mention someone had a gun. When Deputy Jett arrived on scene, he made contact with a male and female. The female advised she was currently in possession of the firearm. Due to the limited information, both were detained while deputies investigated what occurred.”

“It was discovered the two located were part of a group at Jay’s Sports Lounge. The group was causing a disturbance and were asked to leave. As they were leaving, the male handled his firearm and discharged it. Sergeant K.P. Lytle located the discharged shell casing later on. The female took possession of the firearm and the bag it was concealed in prior to Deputy Jett’s arrival.”


It’s been a nail-biter of a Primary Election in the 29th Virginia Senate District, which includes eastern Prince William and northern Stafford counties.

Incumbent Democrat Jeremy McPike is trying to hold on to his seat but faces tough competition from challenger and current House of Delegates member Elizabeth Guzman.


National Weather Service Baltimore-Washington: “Shower & thunderstorm chances increase through late week. 1-3″ of rain is expected now-Fri. AM. 2-5″ is expected along the crest of the Blue Ridge as well as central VA. Isolated instances of flooding are possible, especially across central VA Wed. night-Thu”

“Today: Showers. High near 71. Breezy, with a northeast wind of 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. The chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.”


National Weather Service Baltimore-Washington: “High temperatures will be in the 70s to low 80s today for most. Higher elevations will stay in the 60s. Showers or a t-storm can’t be ruled out today but should be less widespread than Monday. ”

“Today: Isolated showers before 7 am, then scattered showers after 10 am. Increasing clouds, with a high near 81. East wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.”
