Stafford County, Va. –– The two left northbound lanes of Interstate 95 at mile post 136 in Stafford County were closed shortly before 11 p.m. due to a crash, authorities said.

While there were few immediate details on the crash, the right traffic lane was the only one carrying drivers past the crash scene, said authorities. (more…)


While the transit system as of Monday night had no plans of canceling or delaying service on Tuesday, they do warn the platforms at stations could be icy during morning hours.

They’ve urged riders to allow plenty of time to get to the station, use handrails on ramps and while boarding the trains, and to wear sensible clothes and shoes appropriate for the wintry weather. (more…)


 

Fairfax County, Va. ––One of the first projects that could benefit from Gov. Robert F. McDonnell’s proposed statewide transportation plan is the Interstate 95/395 High Occupancy Toll lanes.


When Virginia’s 2011 General Assembly session began Wednesday in Richmond, state legislators got a somber reminder about the shooting of Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

A letter from the state capitol’s Chief of Police, Kimberly S. Lettner, stated legislators should be mindful of their surroundings when in Richmond and to always report suspicious activity if they see it.
