RICHMOND, Va. – The lawn around the state Capitol was hopping with about 1,500 egg-collecting children Wednesday as Gov. Bob McDonnell and first lady Maureen McDonnell held Virginia’s first “Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt.”


STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. –– Crow’s Nest Natural Area Preserve in Stafford County just became more visitor friendly.

The preserve, located in the Aquia District, just opened a new parking facility that will accommodate up to 20 cars. The $200,000 parking lot is located at Brooke Road and Sentinel Ridge Lane.


FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will temporarily reduce parking in the Route 630 (Courthouse Road) Commuter Parking Lot in Stafford County by approximately 40 spaces on Wednesday, Apr. 4 and Thursday, Apr. 5. The reduction in parking space will allow crews to upgrade 16 overhead lights located within the lot.

The work will improve the overall lighting function in the lot and minimize the need for general maintenance.


Public will weigh in on Stafford budget

Virginia Cave Week is intended to raise awareness of Virginia’s caves and surrounding limestone habitats known as karst. The week features discounted admission to some commercial caves as well as opportunities for educators to engage their students with activities and field trips.


NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — It’s Election Day in the Garrisonville District as voters decide who will represent them on the Stafford Board of County Supervisors.

Polls opened in Stafford’s most suburbanized magisterial district at 6 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m. Voters will chose who will permanently replace Delegate Mark Dudenhefer, R-2, Stafford, Woodbridge, who stepped down as the Garrisonville District Supervisor and Board of Supervisors Chairman in January.


MANASSAS, Va. — On Wednesday, March 28 the Prince William Chamber of Commerce hosted the Prince William Valor Awards at Foxchase Manor in Manassas. Now in its 26th year, the Awards serve as an opportunity for the business community to honor the public safety professionals who do so much to protect lives and property throughout the Prince William region.
