PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Police released the names of two motorcyclists killed this weekend in separate crashes on Joplin Road.
Christopher Lee Capo, 34, of Dumfries, was killed Saturday morning near the intersection of Joplin and Park Headquarters roads near Triangle when the driver of a 2007 Volkswagen Golf traveling west on the two lane road tried to make a U-turn. The car crossed into the path of an oncoming 2010 Aprilia RSV4 motorcycle.
STAFFORD, Va. — School funding remains a hot topic in Stafford as officials are expected to approve the county’s proposed $247 million 2013 budget.
County administrator Anthony Romanello said the county government has offered the largest one-time transfer of local funds to the school system in history: $105 million, a 3.6 percent increase over last year.

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Work has begun to rehabilitate a bridge on Va. 610 in North Stafford at Aquia Creek, located west of the intersection with Joshua Road.
Daytime, temporary single-lane closures will be required initially as workers replace guardrail along the bridge, and reconstruct the shoulders. Motorists should be alert for flagging crews at the bridge directing traffic.

STAFFORD, Va. — Two more juveniles have been charged in connection to a school bus fire in Stafford County.
According to fire officials in Stafford, Spotsylvania County fire marshal’s assisted in the investigation that brought charges of vandalism, unlawful entry, conspiracy to commit a felony, and destroying a school bus by fire against the two additional juveniles. Officials have not provided an age of the suspects or said if any of the three suspects in this case live in Stafford County.
