Mount Olive Baptist Church in Rectortown, Va. in Fauquier County is pleased to announce our new pastor, Rev. Tony J. Craddock, Sr. who will preach his initial sermon on July 1.

Rev. Craddock was ordained into the gospel ministry in February 1998 by the Northern Virginia Ministers Association. Rev. Craddock is a member of First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dumfries where he served as an Associate Minister. Welcome Rev. Craddock!


STAFFORD COUNTY, Va — Officials will cut the ribbon on two new sections of the Belmont-Ferry Farm Trail on Saturday.

Phases three and five of the six-section trail will open tomorrow. The trail will eventually link Historic Falmouth with Ferry Farm – George Washington’s boyhood home on the Rappahannock River. It’s being built in sections and, when finished, will link to other areas like Saint Claire Brooks Park, as well as other areas across the river in Fredericksburg, forming the “Heritage Loop.”


Vpstart Crow will hold by-appointment auditions for “Arsenic and Old Lace”, by Joseph Kesselring and directed by Rachael Murray, on Sunday, July 29 and Monday, July 30 between 7 and 10 p.m. each day.

Actors will be seen in 20-minute increments during this time and should schedule an appointment. Auditions will be held at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, Virginia. Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, July 31 from 7 to 10 pm.


LAKE RIDGE, Va. — Dive into the waters of God’s word and discover what it means to have deep faith. As kids journey farther down toward the ocean floor, Deep Sea Voyage Bible stories introduce people from the Old and New Testaments who show deep faith by depending on God, daring to care, claiming Jesus, choosing to follow, and changing the world.

The vacation bible school program is developed for students between kindergarten and 6th grade, and takes place at Old Bridge United Methodist Church from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 9 through 13. A light fellowship meal is served from 5:45 to 6:20 p.m.


STAFFORD, Va — There are 2,213 new high school graduates in Stafford County following graduation ceremonies at all five high schools this weekend.

Mountain View High School graduated 431 students in its sixth graduating class. This class collectively earned over 1.7 million dollars in scholarships. The Valedictorian is Cody LaRowe Brenna Walsh. The Salutatorian is Brenna Walsh Cody LaRowe.


STAFFORD COUNTY, Va — A Woodbridge man faces charges after a substance obtained during a traffic stop tested positive for cocaine.

A Stafford County law enforcement officer was driving south on U.S. 17 in south Stafford about 11:46 p.m. Sunday when he noticed two cars that made an unusually wide turn on the six-lane road. The cars then pulled on to Powell Lane and into a parking lot at the Fredericksburg Auto Auction.


STAFFORD, Va. — A new baby grand piano greets patients and visitors of Stafford Hospital.

The musical instrument sits in the lobby and was purchased by the hospital’s auxiliary staff as a method of calming and soothing those who walk into the medical center, which sits in the heart of Stafford County.
