Two gaming systems were stolen yesterday from a GameStop store in Gainesville. Police said the man used a knife in the heist.

As I thought about my column this month, I was reminded of something I mentioned in my first message to the community, “no school system thrives without community support.” This truth has become more evident with each passing day of the budget process.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Drivers headed south on Interstate 95 this upcoming Wednesday and Thursday nights face temporary closures near mile post 148 at Quantico.
A crane will be moved across the highway at the Telegraph Road overpass in Stafford County on both nights. Drivers should expect total but temporary closures of that portion of the interstate, stated the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Megaprojects office.

STAFFORD, Va. – United States Marine Corps Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient Sgt. Travis Zabroski and his wife of 6 years Lindsey Zabroski recently gave birth to their precious baby boy Bohden. After fighting for life for 30 hours, Bohden Eugene Zabroski passed away. The Zabroski family started the non-profit foundation Bohden’s Hands to help other families to cope with the loss of their infant children.
March 2, 2013 the non-profit organization Bohden’s Hands will be hosting a fundraising event at Mick’s Restaurant and Sports Lounge in Stafford. All of the funds raised will be donated to families that have suffered the bereavement of losing a baby. The event is from 3pm – close.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va . — Route 637 (Telegraph Road) in Stafford County will be closed to all traffic next week between Route 1 and Route 639 (Woodstock Lane) so workers can relocate a water line.
