WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police were called to a town home community in Woodbridge where they arrested a woman they said falsely called 911.

The caller told police she rents a room in a home in the 13000 block of Carolyn Forest Drive and could hear voices in a nearby basement. Apparently, the woman told police a burglary was in progress, but when officers arrived they found a dispute between the tenant and a landlord taking place, according to police reports.


PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — It’s time to take steel from the World Trade Center currently under lock and key and put it on display, said Maureen Caddigan.

The Prince William Potomac District Magisterial Supervisor said she wants to place the steel at a memorial and reflecting pool at the county government center in Woodbridge honoring those who died inside the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. The steel would be placed erect into the ground, and it would also honor a volunteer firefighter from from Dumfires and two other county residents killed when the twin towers collapsed.


STAFFORD, Va. — Stafford’s Civil War Park will hold its grand opening this Saturday at 10 a.m.

The park is located at 400 Mount Hope Church Road, near the Brooke Virginia Railway Express station. Free parking will be available at the VRE station for those who attend, and a free shuttle will be available to take visitors to the park between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., on Saturday. Those with physical impairments will be allowed to park at the park, while all others are asked to park at the VRE station.


The following graduation dates, times, and locations have been announced for Prince William County Public Schools high school, summer school, practical nursing program, and adult education students. Events scheduled at Jiffy Lube Live Pavilion and the Patriot Center are subject to change. Members of the Prince William County School Board are expected to attend many of these events.

At 11 p.m. Friday, April 26, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes on Interstate 395/95 from the Washington D.C. line to the end in Dumfries (Route 234) until 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27 when the HOV lanes will re-open from the Springfield interchange to Dumfries.


MANASSAS, Va. – Police were called to the Olde Town Sports Pub in Manassas on Sunday night after a guest became violent, according to police.

The man left the bar and had driven away in a car before police arrived, so officers fanned out to locate the man and were able to stop him in the area of Va. 28 and Maple Street, stated Manassas police Sgt. Lowell Nevill.
