Weight Watchers is pleased to announce that Becky Spray of Manassas has been awarded the Jean Nidetch Service Vision Leader of the Year Award. Opening on June 1 and on exhibit until June 30, the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton will showcase an exhibition by artists, Kathy Strauss and Maria Bennett Hock. Their show, Weddings & Destinations celebrates brides, the wedding process and all of the sights & sounds a couple can see on their honeymoon. Maria’s traditional oil painting & Kathy’s photography integrate various antique techniques with modern digital methods. The result is a bright combination of artistic expressions that celebrate all of the happenings of a wedding.
The region is under a dense fog advisory from the National Weather Service.
Until 10 a.m., visibilities are expected to stay at a quarter a mile or less.
QUANTICO, Va. — There will be loud noises coming from Quantico Middle/High School tomorrow.
The Marine Corps base of the same name on which it sits and emergency first responders scheduled an active shooter drill beginning at noon. Quantico officials warn the exercise is only a drill, and asked residents not be alarmed.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — A portion of Minnieville Road in Prince William County is one step closer to becoming wider.
County leaders approved a measure to give $1.5 million to Rinker Design Associates to provide plans widen a two-lane portion of the road between Va. 234 and Spriggs Road to four lanes. With the majority of the road – which connects Va. 234 and Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge – already four lanes, this is the last portion of the roadway that is set for widening.
STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A trash truck ran off the side of Va. 610 in Stafford County on Tuesday evening.
The crash involved only the truck and happened just before the Fauquier County line.
