My roommate, Leyla and I enjoy eating similar things. This makes both of our lives easier, as we can share food and alternate cooking meals (she’s an exceptional sharer).

Last week, Leyla shared with me that she was planning to take the 10-day “Real Food Pledge.”  Since it sounded like something I would be on board with, I immediately said, “Oh, I’ll do that too.” I wasn’t too sure what exactly I just signed up for, but I’m always up for a healthy dietary challenge. I’m currently on day four.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A 39-year-old library in Woodbridge will soon feel as if it’s brand new.

The penalties for drinking and driving or texting and driving will change Monday, July 1.

Currently, texting while driving is considered a secondary offense, meaning the offender must be stopped for another, separate offense in order to be charged for texting and driving. Under the new law, it will become a primary offense, allowing police to stop drivers suspected of texting or reading text messages while driving.

DUMFRIES, Va. — The lights at Councilman Derrick Wood’s house on Seigel Court in Dumfries have been dark as of late.

The elected official says he no longer lives in the house after he made the decision to move out. A renter, his landlord wanted $400 more per month for his family to live there, said Wood. It’s a price he didn’t want to pay.
