RICHMOND, Va. – Among the flurry of ethics reform bills being proposed throughout the Virginia General Assembly is Senate Bill 212, which would remove Freedom of Information Act exemptions for legislators and their aides.

The new FOIA bill, which is part of an ethics package authored by Sen. J. Chapman Petersen, D-Fairfax, would remove Delegate Tag Greason’s, R – Potomac Falls, House Bill 1639 less than a year after its approval.


The 9th annual Fredericksburg Boat Show will take place at the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center from January 24 through 26.

Several local boating retailers in the area, including Prince William Marina and Fredericksburg Motor Sports, will be participating in the event, providing information and selling products.

Lanes on I-395 North near Edsall Road closed tonight — Weather permitting, this Friday night, Jan. 17, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close all regular lanes on I-395 North and shift traffic into the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes from Exit 2, Edsall Road (Route 648) to just before Exit 3, Duke Street (Route 236). [VA Megaprojects]
