We might be getting less snow than we thought we would this time yesterday, but you still might need a shovel to remove what falls tonight and into St. Patrick’s Day.

A winter storm warning has replaced the watch issued by the National Weather Service. They’re calling for three to six inches of snow to fall from about 5 p.m. tonight through 2 p.m. Monday. The Monday morning rush hour could be messy, so we can expect some delays tomorrow.

A recent discussion on Our Schools Facebook page revolved around salaried elected officials. We noted the differences between the Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) and the School Board Representatives (SB Reps)

The BOCS, meets year round and are paid as full-time employees with benefits. They have offices, staff and expense accounts. Prince William County Schools receive 57.23% of the general revenue funds paid to the county by the taxpayers, yet, PWC SB Reps are considered part time employees.

Our region is in for another round of winter weather just in time for St. Patricks’ Day.

A winter storm watch is in effect for our area and a winter storm warning to the west, in the Charlottesville area. At least five inches of snow is expected to fall in Prince William and Stafford counties Sunday night into Monday (St. Patrick’s Day).

· Good morning Prince William – The Meals on Wheels Program need volunteer drivers to deliver a warm noon time meal to homebound seniors. You will have a predetermined route from either the Manassas or Woodbridge Senior Center and it only take about 2 hours to complete. Schedules are easily adaptable to your schedule. Please call Melodee at (703) 792-4583 to learn more.

· Don’t forget to join us on Saturday March 22nd for our Annual Volunteer Fair at Manassas Mall from 1pm-4pm. We will have lots of community agencies there to answer your questions and give lots of ideas of how you and your family and friends can make a difference in the community. We will be down past the food court in front of JC Penney so it’s a great location and close to all your favorite stores. We still have space available if your agency is looking for volunteers as well. Please register on volunteerprincewilliam.org to save your space.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A U-Haul was used to steal nearly $9,000 in outdoor goods from a Big Lots store in Woodbridge.

When police pulled up to find the burglary in progress the two men fled the scene. But it didn’t take long for police to figure out who was behind the crime because they used the truck rental paperwork left inside the cab of the truck to identify one of the suspects.
