WOODBRIDGE, Va. — While many on Tuesday wished the snow would stop falling, the Kilareski family enjoyed the winter wonderland.

For the past 10 months, Air Force Maj. John Kilareski has been deployed to the Middle East, but he returned home to Woodbridge 11 days ago. Back in October the Kilareski children Matt, 9, and Sarah, 7, decided to put off celebrating their birthdays and Christmas until March so that their dad could be home with them explained Carrie Kilareski.

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Stafford County has entered into a contract to design and build further road improvements on Garrisonville Road in North Stafford.

Work is currently underway under the management of VDOT on 610, but the County will pick up where this project ends, continuing the road expansion with lane widening and improved turn lanes.


MANASSAS, Va. — Two small children were assaulted while at a daycare in the Manassas area last month.

A five-year-old girl and 6-year-old girl were both abused while in the care of an employee of the daycare, identified by police as S.M.I.L.E. Day Care at 7171 New Market Court in Manassas, just off Balls Ford Road and Interstate 66. Police began their investigation into the allegations of abuse Feb. 26.


Winter will not leave, and our area is on notice once again that up to three inches of snow could blanket the ground.

The late-season storm is expected to move into the area Tuesday morning bringing with it snow. The snow could mix with some rain by Tuesday afternoon, and all of this will be out of the region by late Tuesday night.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A woman who was standing next to her car outside Potomac Mills mall was strangled by a man who asked her for directions.

It happened at 9:29 p.m. Thursday,  March 20 when the 34-year-old female victim, of Lorton, had just left work and was in the mall parking lot, at the corner of Potomac Mills Circle and Nazarene Way in Woodbridge. A man walked up to her and asked for her directions but then began to choke her, Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.


Update

A bus carrying 17 people including its driver was returning to Prince William County after a birthday party in Washington, D.C. early this morning when it was involved in a crash where nine occupants were ejected.
