MANASSAS, Va. — Construction crews working in the area of Prince William Parkway and Va. 28 struck a gas line.
Police have a ramp from the parkway to Va. 28 closed at this hour and traffic in the area is slowed. There’s no word yet on how long the repair will take.
STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Four teenagers sitting in slow traffic on U.S. 1 thought it might be a good idea to stop off at a plant nursery.
But while they were there Stafford County law enforcement authorities said the four teenagers from neighboring Prince William County decided to steal a lawn ornament – a ceramic rabbit.
MANASSAS, Va. — A total of seven people were forced from their home by fire over the weekend.
Fire and rescue crews were called to a house fire on Taney Road in Manassas on Sunday night. Seven people live at the house but were not able to return following the fire, said Manassas spokeswoman Patty Prince.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Hundreds of moviegoers sat below the big screen under the stars Sunday night.
They came out to Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center in Woodbridge to watch a double feature of “Mary Poppins” and “Savings Mr. Banks.” Both Disney films, the former is a classic tale that depicts a nanny who comes to work for the family of a banker, starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. The latter is the story behind the making of the Mary Poppins movie, starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson.
MANASSAS PARK, Va. — Fireworks will rocket into the sky from Signal Hill Park.
Manassas Park will hold its fireworks show Friday, July 4 at the popular park at 9300 Signal Hill Drive. The fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m., and attendees should plan on bringing a blanket and picnic basket to celebrate the nation’s 238th birthday.
LAKE RIDGE, Va. — Two storm water management ponds have floated to the top of the list of needed storm water improvements along the Occoquan River.
Prince William County officials walked six miles and looked at 20 streams in the Occoquan River watershed, which includes streams and creeks that collect rainfall in areas like Brenstville and Independent Hill and points south of Manassas, where it then flows toward the Town of Occoquan and Lake Ridge.
