Lovejoy Plans City Business Roundtable

MANASSAS, Va. – Manassas City Councilman Ian Lovejoy will be hosting a Regional Business Leaders Round table on Sept. 10 from 2 p.m – 3:30 p.m. Business owners and other interested community partners are encouraged to attend.

This important roundtable discussion is the first of several such events being organized by Councilman Ian Lovejoy over the coming year. It is designed to give the business community an opportunity to share insights, ideas, success stories and any concerns regarding the business climate in the City of Manassas and the broader Prince William County area.

Manassas Metro PCS Store Robbed at Gunpoint

MANASSAS, Va. – On September 1, an employee at Metro PCS told police that an unknown man entered the store, showed a handgun, and demanded money. According to the report, the man left the scene before police could arrive with an unknown amount of money.

4 Children in the Car of DUI Suspect

MANASSAS, Va. – On August 31, police stopped a car in the area with the suspect inside. Police then arrested the suspect after discovering that he was driving under the influence and with four children between the ages of 13 months and 13-years-old in the back.

Suspect Tied to June Sex Assualt of 11-Year-Old Girl

MANASSAS, Va. – On July 1, Special Victims Unit detectives investigated the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl by the male suspect, whom she knew. According to the report, the assault happened in June 2014 and police arrested the suspect on August 27.

Anne Kadis Wins Stafford County 350th Art Competition

Local artist Anne Kadis envisioned marrying Stafford’s rich history with modern day life in her award-winning work “History Lessons.” Ms. Kadis won the Commemorative Art Piece Competition sponsored by 350^th Anniversary partner The Professional Artists and Artisans Association of Stafford County (PAAASC). Limited edition prints of “History Lessons” will be offered as a thank you to the many volunteers who have helped make the 350^th Anniversary a success.

“Without our many volunteers, we would not have been able to pull off the events and programming this year,” said Chairman of the 350^th Anniversary Blue Ribbon Committee Harry Crisp. “We wanted to do something special for them and I think this lovely print will remind them of this special year and their important role in it.”

LAKE RIDGE, Va. – On September 2, officers went to investigate a fight and upon arrival, discovered and identified the suspect, who was drunk. As police were trying to arrest her, the female suspect resisted by kicking an officer in the leg several times and she damaged a part of a police car while she kicked.
