It looks like you can expect to see some more snow in the area this evening, into your morning commute tomorrow. 

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area, with snow projected to begin late tonight, but there’s been no projection on the potential accumulation as of right now, as part of the alert.


Stafford County will be giving money to local non-profits arts groups in the county, as part of a grant awarded by the Virginia Commission for the Arts.

“The Virginia Commission for the Arts offers local governments a challenge grant opportunity, to apply to non-profit arts groups,” said Henderson, the arts grant coordinator.


People keep coming back to the Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center’s Attack the Fat challenge. Director of the program, Robin Frey, says that it’s so successful because it utilizes all the elements of personal training, without the high cost.

“Group training in the industry itself is the driving force with training right now,” Frey said, adding, “Economically it’s more affordable. Personal training can be a little more costly.”


A Manassas man is wanted by the Prince William County Police Department for an assault and attempted malicious wounding incident that took place yesterday evening. 

A police K-9 team and a Fairfax County police helicopter attempted to search for the suspect. He has not yet been caught and detained.


Stafford County has received grant funding to conduct a survey and has partnered with the University of Mary Washington to find artifacts, buildings and sites from the lives of African Americans and slavery in the county prior to 1866.

After an interest had been expressed by local historians, Stafford applied for a certified local government grant from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, according to Kathy Baker, Assistant Director of Planning & Zoning for the county.


The driver of an SUV lost control his vehicle and slammed into the car of a Virginia State Trooper this morning.

It happened at mile post 152 in Dumfries at 3:30 a.m. The trooper was sitting in his patrol car running radar, where the old I-95 HOV lanes use to merge with the southbound travel lanes of I-95. A 2000  Ford Explorer traveling south overturned and slid off the left side of the highway and crashed into the troopers car, said Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.
