This week there have been several residential burglaries in Prince William and Manassas.
In the afternoon on May 4, Prince William police responded to a call from a residence on Clematis Street in Manassas to investigate a burglary. Officers said that the homeowner told Prince William police that the burglary occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and there was no forced entry and the entry point was an unsecured window. A Prince William police report stated that a laptop, money, handgun and an iPhone were reported missing.

On the morning of May 5, Haymarket police officers responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle on Lea Berry Way in Haymarket.
According to Haymarket police, when officers made contact and searched the car, they saw what they suspected to be narcotics, and items used with narcotics.

Yesterday evening, Prince William fire and rescue crews responded to a call for a commercial fire on Sudley Road in Manassas.
According to Prince William fire and rescue, responders discovered the fire in an electrical room. They were able to put out the fire, and the fire did not extend to any other rooms.
The Manassas City police have issued a reminder that residents are not allowed to use Lake Manassas, as it is not open to the public.
Lake Manassas is a 770-acre body of water near Gainesville and it is the primary source of the city’s drinking water, said a Manassas police release.
On June 9, a Democratic primary election will be held for Virginia’s 29th Senate district in the City of Manassas.
The incumbent, Senator Chuck Colgan, will not be seeking reelection.
