On the evening of July 13, Prince William police responded to a call on Piccolo Lane in Woodbridge to investigate an assault.

According to Prince William police, the victim – a 20-year old Woodbridge woman – told officer that she and 24-year old Woodbridge man Roberto Estrada-Mata were involved in a verbal fight that escalated.


Virginia Railway Express (VRE) could face fines up to $25,000 a day starting in 2016.

This is one of the consequences that the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) could levy against Virginia’s only commuter railroad for not meeting full federal compliance standards with implementation of “positive train control” by the end of 2015, according to VRE spokesman Bryan Jungwirth.

On the afternoon of July 10, Prince William police responded to a call at the Wal-Mart on Jefferson Davis Highway in Dumfries for a sexual assault.

According to Prince William police, the victim – a 29-year old Woodbridge woman – stated that she was shopping in the Wal-Mart when she was approached by an unknown man.
