New technology allows Northern Virginia residents the option to skip the vehicle emissions station. But drivers will still pay the same to have their vehicle emissions tested.

The Bone, a popular barbecue restaurant in Manassas, teamed with with Manassas beer maker Heritage Brewery to open a new eatery inside Washington, D.C.’s Verizon Center.
It marks the first collaboration between the beer and barbecue makers.
Prince William County will hold an open house at its Science Accelerator complex outside Manassas.
Officials and doctors will gather on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. to provide insight and an update into the life sciences work ongoing in the center.
The winners of the 70th Annual Greater Manassas Christmas Parade have been announced.
The parade took place Saturday, Dec. 15, 2015 in Downtown Manassas. Ed Asner was the Grand Marshal for the parade.
Stone Haven will withdraw its rezoning request to develop 719 acres of land in western Prince William County.
The contentious development would have brought 1,006 new homes to the property in Bristow, located bordered by Linton Hall, Wellington, and Devlin roads. It also would have brought a mixed-use center with retail, commercial development.

Christmas music is so popular that many radio stations start playing holiday tunes before Thanksgiving. So giving away free CDs of Christmas music is a perfect way to invite people to celebrate Christmas at Chapel Springs Church, which has campuses in Bristow and Stafford.
Matchless King is the title of the newly-released CD written and produced by Chapel Springs Worship Pastor Josh Wesley and several key members of the church’s worship team. The CD takes a different approach from most Christmas CDs, though, because it tells the story not just of Jesus Christ’s birth, but God’s plan to redeem mankind through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
This year marks the 33rd year of “Christmas Eve in Washington” — the region’s very own Christmas carol.
Christmas Eve in Washington was a hit written in about 20 minutes by Woodbridge native Maura Sullivan. In the early 1980s, Sullivan was a frequent guest on a local Washington D.C radio station, WMZQ. During her segment, 10 random ideas would be taken from listeners to make a silly song. The next morning she would perform the song.
Manassas City held it’s annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015.
Crowds gathered on the lawn of the Manassas Museum for the 6:45 p.m. tree lighting. City officials, and special guest and 70th Annual Greater Manassas Christmas Parade Grand Marshal Ed Asner spoke from a stage in front of the crowd.
Dumfries held its 41st Annual Christmas Parade today. The theme was “A winter’s dream.”
The parade route took floats and parade participants down Main Street toward Dumfries Shopping Plaza.
