Ruth Anderson will soon be the Occoquan District Supervisor for the Prince William County Board of Supervisors.

Prince William County Public Schools report the secure the building status has been lifted at all schools affected: C.D. Hylton High School, and Rosa Parks, McAuliffe, and Enterprise elementary schools.

The volunteers at Stafford Volunteer Fire Department will once again this year bring Santa Claus on a tour through neighborhoods in Stafford County. 

The volunteers will travel through neighborhoods starting on Thursday, December 17 through the weekend. Officials said look for the lights and sirens coming through the neighborhood, and then come outside and see Santa Claus. 


Stafford Sheriff Charles “Charlie” Jett will say goodbye tonight.

A special meet and greet is planned at the Stafford County Public Safety Center from 4 to 7 p.m. where at least 300 people are expected to come and shake the hand of the veteran sheriff who has spent a lifetime serving the department, and as county sheriff since 2000.


Fire investigators at 11 a.m. were on the scene of a major house fire doused earlier this morning.

Two firefighters became trapped when they went inside one of the four homes affected by the blaze to look for a female that had already made it safely out of the house. The two firefighters escaped the burning blaze through a window of the home, said Manassas Fire Marshal Frank Teevan.


Stafford authorities say a man told then he placed his car key into the doors of several parked cars on Elkton Drive and became angry when the doors didn’t open.

The Stafford sheriff’s office was sent to the street in England Run near the Central Rappahannock Regional Library on Sunday, December 13 at 5:30 a.m. after reports of a suspicious man trying to break into cars on the street were called into 911.


The red light will soon shine in Manassas, meaning hot and glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts are ready to go.

The City Council last night approved the addition of a fourth pad retail site at the Davis Ford Crossing Shopping Center at the corner of Prince William Parkway, Liberia Avenue, and Wellington Road. A Krispy Kreme will be built between the Exxon gas station and Arby’s restaurant there.


Chick-fil-A is preparing for a “parking lot party” in Lake Ridge tonight.

The company’s newest location at Prince William Parkway and Old Bridge Road will open on Wednesday, December 16. That means a small crowd is expected to gather in the Chick-fil-A parking lot to line up to the first to enter the restaurant and to win a one-year supply of Chick-fil-A Food.
The fast-food restaurant is a popular destination for the region.


Investigators are looking into a series of vehicle break-ins in Stafford County.

A sheriff’s deputy was called to three streets in the county’s Rockhill District after someone broke into a series of cars and stole things like an iPod, a knife, and some loose change.
