A family called 911 after discovering a fire on their porch.
At 11 p.m Tuesday, fire and rescue crews were sent to Redstone Drive in Dale City for a report of a structure fire.

The roads last night were treacherous across the region, as less than an inch of snow that fell quickly turned to mush, and then to ice.
Vehicles traveling on Route 610 slipped and slid all over the roadway as drivers tried to make their way home.
We don’t see this very often around here.
A blizzard warning goes into effect at 1 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Sunday. This latest warning from the National Weather Service upgrades yesterday’s blizzard watch.
This map from the National Weather Service posted this morning shows the “most likely” snow totals for our region. Accumulation is expected Friday through Saturday night.
Sliver lining — it’s going to be mostly sunny on Sunday.
Another convenience store in Stafford County was robbed overnight.
This time it happened along Route 17 in south Stafford, where a man walked in to a 7-Eleven at 5:22 a.m. today, displayed what the clerk thought to be a gun, and demanded cash.
