Gas crews are checking their lines in a Woodbridge neighborhood following an explosion inside a home Feb. 7.

On that day, fire and rescue crews were called to the 14000 block of Franklin Street for a report of the gas leak. Crews entered a home and smelled gas inside the structure, and were lucky enough to make it out unscathed before the house exploded.

The restored J-Class 611 steam engine will return to Manassas in June for the annual Railway Heritage Festival.

The 1950’s-era steam locomotive was fully restored and made its debut excursion last summer with several stops around Virginia, including Manassas. Thousands came to the Manassas rail festival to get a glimpse of the train the steamed into town.


Some of the only concerns the average high school student deals with nowadays are the upcoming AP test next week, and whether or not the cafeteria will be serving chicken tenders.

But not for Katheryn Garcia, 17, of Woodbridge, who recently underwent an innovative procedure to help her continue her daily life.
