From Prince William police: 

Residential Burglary – On August 22 at 10:52AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5200 block of Meckon Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an alarm activation. As officers were enroute, a witness reported to police that an unknown man was attempting to break into the residence through a rear door with a shovel.


From the Virginia Department of Transportation: 

Lane closures for milling and paving will occur nightly on part of Shoppers Best Way from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, August 23 through Thursday, August 25, and on portions of Featherstone Road and Blackburn Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, August 28 through Thursday, September 1, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.


From Town of Quantico: 

The Town of Quantico, in cooperation with the American Canoe Association (ACA), USA Canoe/Kayak (USACK), and Adaptive Expeditions are looking for eligible disabled Veterans to participate in an upcoming Paracanoe athlete development project being held on Saturday August 27th and Sunday August 28th. This is a rain or shine event. Registration is required to participate in this FREE event.


Members of the Manassas City Economic Development Authority said their funds were left unprotected when the Board’s treasurer resigned two weeks ago, and he retained the ability to withdraw authority funds.

Alvin White’s resigned from his post term on the EDA expired after being elected to serve in January as its treasurer. He was appointed by the Manassas City Council to serve a four-year term that began in 2011.
