STAFFORD, Va. — A project to build collector-distributor lanes on Interstate 95 south in Stafford County, between Route 17 and Route 3 in Fredericksburg, is moving ahead.
The Virginia Department of Transportation today issued this notice for a company to design the lanes (similar lanes drivers find at the I-95 interchange at Dale City.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — As transit officials in Prince William County wrangle with how to keep buses rolling, riders won’t have to worry about service cuts in the coming year.

We need new blood on the school board. We need someone that will hold the division accountable, and we need someone that we, as the citizens, can hold accountable.
The Stafford County School Board has been making progress on becoming a school division of which we can all be proud. They still have a long way to go, but finally, they are headed in the right direction.
Over the last 12 years, the school division has been headed in the wrong direction. Crowded classrooms, understaffed schools, lack of parity throughout the division, and financial & legal scandals had become the norm.

Possession of Child Pornography – In October of 2016, information was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that the suspect, later identified as the accused, was uploading child pornography to the internet. On November 1, detectives from the Prince William County Police Special Victim’s Unit and the Northern Virginia/Metropolitan D.C. Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the 3000 block of Forestdale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) regarding the investigation. Evidence supporting the possession of child pornography was seized. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Andrew EMANN, was arrested.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident where a young adult female was sexually assaulted along Kings Highway in Stafford. Below is a photo of the shirt that was left by the suspect at the scene as well as the composite drawing of the suspect that was distributed last evening. Police are working a crash on Aden Road where a utility pole was struck and fell.
The two-lane road is closed between Carriage Ford Road and Fleetwood Drive. We don’t yet have information on injuries or the types of vehicles involved.
STAFFORD, Va. — The Stafford County School Board is accepting applications for Garrisonville District School Board member folloiwng the resignation of Nanette Kidby.
Kidby told the Free Lance-Star she is moving away from the area.
