MISSION BBQ announced on January 5, 2017 that thanks to the generous support of our customers, the total donation to the local National Guard is $42,839. The donation total is from 10% of gift card sales sold between November 25 and December 31 at all 40 locations. The National Guard is an essential element of the U.S. military. Always on guard to defend the American way of life in an emergency, they are a force ready for whatever is needed in our communities.


From Prince William police: 

Suspicious Death – On January 12 at 12:40PM, officers responded to the 1500 block of Cherry Hill Rd in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a death. The caller reported to police that while walking in the above area, a man’s body was observed along the shoreline of the Potomac River. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from the Homicide Unit are investigating the death as suspicious. The body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination and autopsy. The victim’s identification will be released once confirmed and a next of kin has been notified. The investigation continues.


A state lawmaker and his supporters Thursday defended legislation telling transgender individuals which bathroom they must use – a proposal that Gov. Terry McAuliffe has vowed to veto.

House Bill 1612, proposed by Del. Bob Marshall, R-Manassas, would require people in public schools and government buildings to use the restroom for the sex shown on their original birth certificate.

On Wednesday, January 11th at 10:40 a.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire located in a single family home in the 12900 block of Vixen Court in Bristow.
