From Manassas City spokeswoman Patty Prince: 

On April 19 at 5:04 p.m. City of Manassas Fire and Rescue units were called to the 8700 block of Bretton Woods Drive in Manassas for a structure fire.  Prior to their arrival, neighbors witnessed heavy black smoke coming from upper level bedroom windows with two juveniles yelling for help.  Two neighbors went into action, both putting ladders up to the house.  One neighbor rescued the juveniles; while another helped other family members escape.

In 2014, the county worked to fill the 89-year-0ld dam on the Occoquan River with concrete after two toe drains at the bottom were seen spilling an unusually high amount of water into the river from the bottom of the structure. 


From Prince William police: 

Sexual Assault Investigation – On April 16 at 9:30AM, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 15600 block of Renton Ct in Dumfries (22025) earlier that morning. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 21-year-old woman of Manassas, was sexually assaulted by the accused, an acquaintance. After the assault, the victim contacted a family member who responded to the residence. During the encounter, the family member was involved in a physical altercation with the accused and the police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.


Fatal Crash Investigation – On April 18 at 12:04PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the intersection of Old Bridge Rd and Antietam Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a two vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2004 Isuzu NPR truck was attempting to make a left turn onto northbound Antietam Rd from eastbound Old Bridge Rd when the vehicle collided with the driver of a 2007 Toyota Prius who was traveling in the westbound lanes of Old Bridge Rd. The driver of the Toyota Prius was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver and a passenger of the Isuzu NPR were not injured. Speed, alcohol, and drugs are not factors in this crash. The investigation continues.

Malicious Wounding *ARREST– On April 15, Dashawn Lamar MOORE-TAYLOR, wanted for an assault which occurred in the area of Neabsco Rd and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) on March 29, 2016, was located and arrested in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
