The heavy rains that are forecast to bring minor flooding to some parts of the region have begun.

Prince William police tell us they will be out on Tuesday, August, 1 in the community meeting with residents. While the department has not told us about any large NNO celebrations, it did encourage neighbors to head outside and gather with each other to build a sense of community.

A portion of the ramp from southbound I-95 to Dale Blvd (Route 784) will be closed between 10 p.m. Sunday, July 30 and 5 a.m. Monday, July 31 to continue work on a ramp realignment project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
MANASSAS — A construction worker fell 30 feet off of a ladder.
Rescue crews were called to the 9400 block of Liberia Avenue on Thursday, July 27 about 6 p.m. where a man working on a new Wawa gas station was injured.
OCCOQUAN — Occoquan is now an official arts hub.
The Prince William County Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance this month giving its blessing for the county, Occoquan Town, and the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority to create a special arts district.

WOODBRIDGE — Fire and rescue crews were called to a fire in the basement of a house at 12100 block of Randall Drive in Woodbridge for a report of a house fire.
Crews reported smoke coming from on Randall Drive near the intersection of East Longview Drive, as they arrived on scene about 4:40 p.m.
HAYMARKET — Dominion will take a breather when it comes to building a new overhead power line in Haymarket.
The utility has met stiff opposition from residents its plan to build a 230,000 kv transmission line to power a new data center reportedly owned by Amazon, Inc. along Carver Road, an area where many freed slaves first owned property.
