WOODBRIDGE — Woodbridge has a boardwalk, and it’ll soon be open to the public.
The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently voted to combine the Julie J. Metz Wetlands Park, the Rippon Lodge Historic Property, Kings Highway, the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk, the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, and Rippon Landing Neighborhood Park.
DALE CITY — On Saturday, Leadership Prince William (LPW) and Comcast saw a record-breaking 318 volunteers in a day of service.
This is the fifth consecutive year that LPW and Comcast have teamed up on a local community service project for the annual Comcast Cares Day. According to LPW Executive Director Andrea Money, the normal turnout for these events is around 200 to 250 people.

MANASSAS — The Hylton Performing Arts Center announced its lineup of 2019 Summer Performances for Young Audiences.

WOODBRIDGE — A charity dinner in Woodbridge helped to raise $35,000 for a charity that has been working to help those affected by civil war in Syria and a major earthquake in Haiti.
The Masroor Mosque Chapter of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA in Woodbridge co-sponsored a Fundraising Dinner to support Humanity First USA.
BRISTOW — Prince William County writer Katherine Mercurio Gotthardt has released her sixth book entitled “Late April,” a collection of poetry written between April 2018 and April 2019. April holds significance in that it is National Poetry Month.
This latest collection is what Gotthardt and her readers describe as eclectic.
MANASSAS — If you can’t make the Kentucky Derby this year, Manassas plans to bring the derby home to you.
The city will hold its first “Historic Downtown Derby” on Friday afternoon, May 3, as part of its monthly First Friday events.
MANASSAS — About 500 people packed the track — the runway at the Manassas Regional Airport — on Sunday for the annual Manassas Runway 10K/5k/1 Miler race.
Three races were held — a 10K and 5K for adults, and 1-mile fun run for children. The results of the race are posted online.

Members of “Write by the Rails,” a Manassas-based writers group, which is a part of the Virginia Writers Club, rode the Orange line on Washington’s Metro system.
