OCCOQUAN’S GOLDEN GOOSE WILL BE CLOSING AND PAT & LAVERNE ARE RETIRING . This has been such a difficult decision as we have such fun knowing our customers and in an “old fashioned shop way”, having time to talk and enjoy each of you. The thing we will miss the most is good conversation, discussing how to display your Dept. 56 villages, which Byers’ Caroler would be best in your display and finding just the right ornament for your family….by the way this year’s most interesting request for an ornament was “a brain”….no, that one we didn’t have.

We are very pleased to welcome the newest restaurant in Historic Downtown Manassas, Taps-N-Apps.  Located in the former Mackey’s space on Center Street, the new restaurant has been completely renovated from floor to ceiling.  Owner John Csoka has invested roughly $87,000 in paint, flooring, lighting and top-of-the line kitchen equipment to ensure that customers have a great experience in a family-friendly atmosphere.  


Bourbon makers KO Distillery in Manassas won the Prince William Chamber Emerging Business of the Year award for 2017 in February. 

Owners John and Bill Karlson have had nearly a year to ferment in the joy of winning both the award and recognition. There were 12 winners in as many categories at this year’s show.


There are changes in the works for the very first BadWolf Brewing Company. 

“Little BadWolf,” as it’s known to customers and owners Jeremy and Sarah Meyers, sells brewing supplies and is still home to some small batch brewing operations for BadWolf. It was replaced by “Big BadWolf” when the company expanded in 2015 to a new location at KAO Circle in Manassas.


As Virginia’s wine and craft beer industries continue to grow, many of the millions of annual visitors to establishments throughout the state bring their children.

It’s not only legal but encouraged by many wineries and breweries.
