There were some tense moments today for passengers on board a small jet that landed at Manassas Regional Airport.

Four people were aboard a Cessna Citation 1 that took off in Culpeper bound for Indianapolis that sustained engine failure on one of its two engines. The right engine lost power, according to Manassas City spokeswoman Patty Prince.


Fatal Crash Investigation – On April 18 at 12:04PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the intersection of Old Bridge Rd and Antietam Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a two vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2004 Isuzu NPR truck was attempting to make a left turn onto northbound Antietam Rd from eastbound Old Bridge Rd when the vehicle collided with the driver of a 2007 Toyota Prius who was traveling in the westbound lanes of Old Bridge Rd. The driver of the Toyota Prius was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver and a passenger of the Isuzu NPR were not injured. Speed, alcohol, and drugs are not factors in this crash. The investigation continues.

From Manassas City Police Department:

At 1:10 a.m. on April 17, 2017, Manassas City Police responded to 9000 block of Centreville Rd for a report of shots fired.  Officers located a 25-year-old male victim who appeared to be suffering from gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.  The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the family.  This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

From Prince William police: 

Murder Investigation *ADDITIONAL SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED – Detectives from the Prince William County Homicide Unit have identified two additional suspects wanted in connection to the murder of Christian Alexander SOSA RIVAS. The victim’s body was located along the shoreline of the Potomac River on January 12, 2017. Additional information obtained in the ongoing investigation identified one of the suspects as 27-year old Dimas Misael CANALES SANTOS of Hyattsville, Maryland. The second suspect was identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile, also of Maryland. The juvenile suspect was located and arrested without incident on March 29 in Montgomery County by members of the Montgomery County Police Department. The juvenile suspect will be held in Maryland until he is extradited back to Virginia. The CANALES SANTOS suspect remains wanted and is being sought by police. Six other suspects, including a separate juvenile, were previously arrested in connection to this investigation.

I’m writing to inform you that one of our OmniRide commuter buses was involved in an accident within the last half hour or so. Details are few and sketchy – all we know at this time is that bus number 355 appears to have struck the Lennox apartment building in Crystal City, that the operator has been transported to the hospital, that there were no passengers onboard, and that there appear to have been additional injuries.

Double Fatal Crash Investigation – On March 11 at 8:50PM, investigators with the Crash Unit responded to Prince William Pkwy between I-95 and York Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a two-vehicle accident.
