The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of vandalism involving a flag pole that flies a large Confederate flag on private property near Interstate 95 in the Falmouth area.
MANASSAS — The Prince William County Planning Commission will not hear the Kine Property case on Wednesday as originally scheduled.
The proposed development would bring 400 new homes on 100 acres of land at the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Liberia Avenue just outside Manassas.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On September 29 at 2:14PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 9300 block of Brentsville Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a two vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 1997 Ford F350 was traveling westbound on Brentsville Rd when the vehicle crossed over the double yellow line and collided head on with the driver of a 2005 Ford Ranger who was traveling eastbound on Brentsville Rd. The driver of the 2005 Ford Ranger was eventually flown to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries on September 30. The driver of the Ford F350 was also flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. It is unknown at this time if speed or drug use are factors in this crash. Charges are pending. The investigation continues.

At 2:57 a.m. City of Manassas Fire and Rescue units responded to a two-alarm fire in the 9000 block of McRae Court. Upon arrival, units saw fire showing from a middle unit to the rear of the house. In total, fire damaged three town homes. Fourteen adults and five children have been displaced. Currently, the families are attempting to find shelter with friends and family. Fire Marshal Hartnett is on scene.

Police are searching for the driver of a green Mustang who fled the scene after striking the safety patrolman while he was rendering aid to another disabled driver.

Attempted Sexual Assault | Abduction – On September 21 at 4:24AM, officers responded to the area of South Park Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted assault. The investigation revealed the victim, an 18-year-old woman, was in a park in the above area when she was approached by a masked man.
Police are on the scene of a stabbing that happened just before 11 a.m.
At least one person has been injured. A helicopter has been called to fly the victim to a local hospital.
HAYMARKET — Prince William police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Haymarket.
We’re told no police officers have been injured. Further details on the incident have yet-to-be-made available by a police spokesman.
STAFFORD — Stafford officials will turn to the federal government to verify the spellings, ranks, and status of the names listed on commemorative bricks at the county’s newly minted veterans memorial.
The move comes after Stafford County attorney Jason Pelt said he found 52 of the over 60 bricks contain errors such as misspelled names, wrong ranks, inaccurate time periods of military service, and some that were wrongly listed as killed in action (KIA).
