NORTH STAFFORD, Va. –– Fire and rescue crews in Stafford County today will honor one of their own.
John “Johnny Mac” McDonald died in the line of duty working as a career Battalion Fire Chief at Washington’s Navy Yard on May 30. When not in Washington, McDonald served as a volunteer fire fighter at Stafford Volunteer Fire Department where he was Fire Chief.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A mother and father have been charged after police said they didn’t seek medical treatment soon enough for their injured child.
Police didn’t say where the child was injured, but did issue a press release with the following details:

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. –The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will post approximate travel times for Interstate 95 in the Fredericksburg area on overhead message signs starting Friday, June 6, giving motorists a preview of traffic conditions on the road ahead.
VDOT uses real-time traffic data gathered from Inrix and multiple technologies to show the approximate length of time to drive between two points along I-95.

The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation is now selling its MyLink pass for teens, formerly known as the teen summer bus pass. The $30 pass is good for unlimited rides on OmniLink local buses that service Dale City, Dumfries, Lake Ridge, Quantico, Woodbridge, Manassas, and Manassas Park, as well as the Cross-County Connector bus that runs between Manassas and Woodbridge.
MANASSAS, Va. — A 14-year-old student on his way to Metz Middle School in Manassas was shot in the stomach.

MANASSAS, Va. — A lot goes into setting up the train displays. There’s the wiring that supports the electric trains, the alignment of the track, and all of it doesn’t go together until the all of the modular pieces miniature town display are completely leveled.
The whole process takes about two hours to complete but once it’s done the world of model railroading can be an ever expansive one.

After graduation, he joined the Army and served in Korea. After his discharge, he returned to Huntington and then moved to Chicago, where he obtained a degree in Engineering. After a position with Honeywell in Phoenix, he was hired by the US Postal Service as a postal engineer. He traveled the country redesigning postal centers for smoother operations.
